Once per year, the Umeå Centre for Microbial Research gathers all infection biologists in Umeå for a science celebration called the UCMR Day. Based on his poster presentation at the UCMR day 2020, our postdoc Karim Rafie was appointed “UCMR Ambassador 2020”. This is not only the coolest title ever for a poster prize, but it also comes with a substational travel grant of SEK 25k to go to conference(s) of his choice as a representative of UCMR.
